Strategy – Proper prior planning prevents poor performance
Every greater initiative requires a sound strategy. The term ‘Strategy’ sounds sometimes bigger than it is. Yes, it is absolutely important – but the best strategies can be written on a napkin, not 100 PowerPoint slides. Many leaders of projects or transformations have either a too complex strategy which no one understands or no strategy at all. Both situations lead to the same result: If you confuse them, you lose them. Your strategy should be simple and significant. Now, that you have interviewed your stakeholders, you know where you are right now. Your status quo is clear. Your OneGoal® is also clear. The way from here to there is your strategy. How do you achieve your OneGoal® as fast as possible? Don’t overthink it – think it through. Your people will follow as soon as they understand what the way looks like.
